California Cutting Crime Loose For Budget's Sake (click here)

California reports to have 33 state prisons holding 147,000 prisoners. They are planning to release 6,500 back onto the streets this year to save $100 Million, due to overcrowding.
.
Lets see: 147,000 divided by 33 = 4,454.5 inmates per prison.
.
I guess California has several very tiny prisons or well paid guards.
